Currently in June...

Okay peeps, let's hear it ... school is out! I am so giddy as I write this because I have so much to look forward to this summer. I love that Farley lets us all link up to share a little bit of us.

Listening To: My 10 year old Golden Retriever drinking water. He loves to slup, slup, slup and drip    half of it on the floor. But at 10, he can do no wrong :)

Loving: That I can sleep in (not a morning person) sip my coffee, hang out with my husband (also a teacher), and spend time with my fur babies.

Thinking: After almost 6 years I am returning to the school where I started my teaching career. I am so stinking happy and excited! Not only did I start teaching there but I met my hubby there too. Did I mention, he also proposed there in front of the whole school? Yup... I am so looking forward to returning in August. I also will be teaching fourth grade with my friend Deb. She is an amazing teacher that is willing to try new things and is excited about teaching. Fourth grade rocks!

Wanting: I was so overwhelmed packing and moving my things that I got a yucky cold. I think I am now at the tail end. But, who wants to be sick on their break?!

Needing: So, I have three house rabbits (Molly, Harley, and Quinn). Each month I need to trim their nails and they completely hate it. Each time I finish they all stomp their little paws at me and give me the cold shoulder (really, they do).

Summer Bucket List: So much that I want to do. But I have learned to be okay if everything on my list does not get accomplished. Professional reading is a big part of my summer. It is one way I stay current, energized, and focused on my craft (teaching). I have started to read Rigorous Reading by Frey and Fisher and am really into it. But I typically need a book study group to stay on track and it is more fun that way. So if you see or want to start a study group on this book let me know.

You can link up and see what other teacher bloggers are doing too.

I'm loving the extra sleep in the morning as well. I move SO SLOW at 5:00 a.m.! I'm also excited to check in with you over the summer as you make the switch to 4th grade. I think you'll love it!!

  2. How fun for you to return "home". I have plans to read several books this summer. I agree that having a book study group for professional reading is a big help. Have a great summer!

  3. It's so cool that you're returning to teach where you first got started! It sounds like it's going to be extra fun because you know who you will be working with and both of you get to really collaborate and plan together.

    Have a great summer!

    Cheers,
    Lucy :)
